A snow tuber isn’t a kind of potato – it’s a person who likes speeding downhill on a soft, bouncy inner tube. Snowtubing, which combines the thrills of waterslide tubing with the chills of sledding, is one of the fastest-growing winter activities in America. It can be enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels, and snowtubing facilities are offered at many of Traverse City’s winter recreation centers.
This is pure winter fun, and it doesn’t require much more skill than the ability to sit down, hang on tight and do a little high-pitched screaming as you hurtle downhill. Many of our tubing areas feature tandem tubes that allow friends and families to do their tubing together, and automatic lifts to bring you back to the top for ride after ride after ride….

Shanty Creek Resorts
Shanty Creek's tubing park is located at Cedar River Village adjacent to the Purple chair slopes of Schuss Mountain. This straightaway three lane tubing park is sure to get your blood pumping when you reach speeds in excess of 15 mph!
Limited tickets are sold on an hourly basis and each session begins at the top of the hour. Tickets are first come, first serve, so be sure to get your tickets in advance! Tickets may only be purchased in advance on desired tubing day. Tubing tickets may be purchased at any Shanty Creek Resorts ticket outlet. Riders must be at least 36" tall. Children 5 and under receive 50% off tubing tickets.

Timberlee Hills
Snow Tubing at Timberlee Hills is the perfect way to spend the day with your whole family in Traverse City this winter. It's all the fun of sledding - without hiking back up the hill! Don't forget to bundle up and bring your camera. Dress warm with a hat, gloves and snow boots. Timberlee provides the snow tubes. You provide the big smiles and warm memories. When you need a break to warm up and refuel, head inside to Timberlee's Hilltop Hideaway. Sip a mug of hot chocolate or chow down on fresh pizza and burgers from the grill.
